Sour tea is a type of tea made from the Jamaica flower plant. This plant is widely cultivated in parts of Arabia, and for this reason, some people know it as Mecca tea. Currently, this plant exists in Sistan and Baluchistan province in Iran. This plant is red in color and has a sour and sweet taste.
In addition to quenching thirst and fatigue, sour tea has many healing properties. In some parts of Africa, this tea is used to relieve sore throat and cough. This tea is rich in antioxidants and is very useful for skin, blood fat and diabetes.
In 2015, a study was conducted on sour tea and it was found that it lowers blood pressure. Further,
many studies were conducted on patients with diabetes and those with metabolic disorders, and the results showed that drinking this tea, in addition to blood pressure, also reduces bad blood cholesterol.
People with high blood pressure and high blood lipids are at serious risk of heart attack. Consuming as much as sour tea can remove this risk from you.
However, people with high blood pressure should not use sour tea without consulting a doctor. In general, drinking this tea, more than two glasses a day may cause weakness and lethargy in some people.
